Marcello Jonno is a versatile songwriter and music producer from São Paulo, Brazil, currently based in Japan. Influenced by his parents, his musical journey began early, as he started playing instruments like the drums and guitar. During his teenage and college years, Marcello’s musical tastes expanded, drawing inspiration from a range of genres, including MPB, metal, hip-hop, R&B, funk, and electro. After playing in several bands, he embarked on a solo career while also composing and producing for other artists. His diverse background brings a unique groove to his music, which led to a signing with Sony Music Publishing. This partnership has seen him write numerous songs for K-POP and J-POP artists, such as NiziU, Cravity, YENA (IZ*ONE), SixTONES, Kouhei Matsushita, iScream, and more. Highlights of his discography have reached #1 on the Billboard Japan and Oricon charts, earning him “Gold” and “Double-Platinum” certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
